About the Artist

Ria Czerniak-LeBov is a visual artist and musician from Dublin. She recently graduated with first class honours from NCAD, where she studied fine art print and art history.  Her graduate collection, entitled Fragments and Re-Imaginings comprised of multiple monochrome etchings. Working from photography and collage she created surreal cityscapes, exploring memory of place, especially of the urban spaces we occupy. Much of Ria’s work also makes aesthetic reference to black and white film and plays with technical cinematic tools. Framing, panning, de-animation and storyboarding are used to direct the viewers reading of the work, from static image into narrative. Czerniak-LeBov received Graduate Awards from Black Church Print Studio and The Graphic Studio in 2016. Her work has been shown at the RHA, Printmaker’s Gallery, St. Patrick’s Hospital, Courthouse Arts Centre, Steambox and The Joinery.
