About the Artist

Aine Scannell was born in London and raised in Cork, Ireland. Studying in Fine Art Painting to Masters level (Barcelona) – she then took another Masters degree in Printmaking at Wimbledon College of Arts, University of Arts, London, finishing in 2000.
Scannell is a national and international award-winning artist – she has exhibited extensively from Belize to Brazil to Iceland to the United States. She has also shown at many galleries and museums in the UK. She has exhibited in quite a number of private and public galleries in England – mainly in London.
Scannell moved to Scotland in 2007 and has exhibited at commercial galleries in Edinburgh and the Royal Scottish Academy with the SSA (Society of Scottish Artists) and in their Annual Open Exhibition.
“My works are a hybrid of traditional and digital printmaking techniques and figurative in nature. My subject matter is human existence and how we relate to one another ourselves and our environment “
