About the Artist
Philip Gerald is an illustrator based in Dublin. His work focuses on the aesthetic of people, their environments, their habits and the objects they have around them. This stems from his interest in people watching, which is by no means sinister or creepy. By only recording what he sees, rather than what he thinks he sees, his work is lacks any meaning beyond what you see. The figures in his work often have exceedingly large clothes and tiny heads which is an extension of this fascination with appearance and its ambiguity. He works in a variety of methods, combining analogue and digital media.
